Hey! I’m Berk Öztuna. Since I was a kid, music kinda took over my life… and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. So, I created this website to share my knowledge and create a hub for fellow musicians.
These days, I’m either neck-deep in Logic Pro, tweaking plugins madly, or jamming on whatever instrument
I can get my hands on (guitar, handpan, percussion). If I’m not in my DAW, there’s a solid chance I’m somewhere making weird ambient grooves or turning a rock classic into a world music fever dream. You’ve been warned.
I picked up the guitar back in 2008 and instantly fell into the rabbit hole. Two years later, I joined a band called Quantum as the rhythm guitarist.
We were all about rock, prog, heavy metal—the louder, the better. We played gigs, crushed competitions, and even got an album offer, which had us jumping around like kids who just found free pizza.
We ended up working with some of the biggest names in Turkey’s music scene, played at the most iconic festivals and venues in Istanbul, and soaked up everything we could about the real music industry. Those years taught me that I love studio life just as much as the stage (if not more). Quantum didn’t make it past 2015, but my obsession with making music? Still going strong.
After the band days, I started branching out—got into percussion, and in 2017 I discovered the magical space UFO known as the handpan. That thing completely flipped my sound upside down. Something about its dreamy, meditative vibes just clicked. Ever since, I’ve been mixing guitars, handpan, percussion, and virtual instruments into this weird but beautiful fusion of ambient, rhythmic, and kinda-out-there soundscapes.
Sometimes I even take classic rock tracks and transform them into something so unrecognizable, even the original artist would do a double take. Ethnic instruments in a Zeppelin cover? Heck yeah.
Production-wise, Logic Pro is my home base. I’m a total plugin junkie—give me Neural DSP Archetypes, FabFilter, Waves, iZotope, or SSL units, and I’ll be busy sculpting soundscapes until I forget to eat lunch (again). Whether I’m dialing in guitar tones, crafting ambient textures, or just making my speakers cry with distortion, I live for that moment when a mix finally hits just right.
In 2020, I added another twist to the story—writing. I started cranking out articles for music sites, covering everything from gear reviews and plugin shootouts to theory tips and technique breakdowns. If there’s a shiny new plugin out, I’m probably already testing it and writing about it. Because why not nerd out and share the love?
Outside the studio, I keep the creativity flowing by being a part-time digital nomad. I travel, meet cool people, explore new cultures, and find inspiration in the most unexpected places. Whether I’m tracking a new idea on the road, collaborating with artists, or demoing the latest audio wizardry, I’m always chasing that next “whoa, that sounds awesome” moment.
If you’re curious about my sonic adventures, you can check out my music on Spotify or Instagram (just search Berk Öztuna). Some tracks you might dig: “Nostalgia,” “Kaplumbaga,” “Reflections,” and “Dragon Eyes.” Expect ambient layers, deep grooves, and plenty of handpan wizardry. Basically, headphone candy.
Musically, I’m all over the map—and that’s how I like it. I grew up on the legends—Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Camel—but I’m equally obsessed with Miles Davis, Alfa Mist, Portico Quartet, Julian Lage, Guthrie Govan, Erkan Oğur, Aydın Esen, and Kabeção. Jazz, prog rock, fusion, world music—if it sounds cool, I’m in.
At the end of the day, music is my happy place. Whether I’m producing, playing, or geeking out over a new plugin, it still feels like the best thing ever. And hey, if you ever wanna talk gear, guitar tones, or how to sneak a handpan into a metal mix, I’m your guy.
